XD COACHES MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

Corey Olynik, B.A., M.Div. – Co-Founder

“Helping individuals become more gives me energy,” says Corey Olynik, founder of LifeQues Inc. and Chair of TEC 219 (The Executive Committee). “The most exciting thing about my work is the expectation that I will ask the tough questions, and look underneath the surface rooting out causes for personal and corporate logjams. Then, I get to watch the breakthroughs.”

Olynik is a results-oriented leadership coach with a solid track record in business management, strategic planning, customer service, human resources, change management and communications. As a partner in LifeQues Inc., he advises and assists individuals and organizations in recognizing and reaching their potential.

“I’ve worked with achievers in a number of different venues: entrepreneurs, political figures, non-profit leaders. The common thread is that usually they spend too much of their energy dealing with symptoms and not enough working on causes. They are often trapped ‘in the business’ and unable to work ‘on the business.’ Helping people make that transition (that leap!) is my passion.”

Olynik’s experience has been gained in the private, public and non-profit sectors, working primarily in executive management positions with medium to large organizations. A former strategic advisor to senior political leaders at all three levels of government, he has a varied background of leadership and management. He has served as Executive Director of a successful province-wide organization and Regional Manager (Western Canada) for a major national business-to-business firm.

He sums up his role this way: “I feel best when I see someone’s lights go on.”

Wayne Stewart, B.Eng. Sc., MBA, BA (Poli Sci), BA (Rel St), BA, (Phil) – Co-Founder

After a 27 year career with a major oil company with senior management responsibilities in marketing, product research, human resources and public affairs, Wayne has spent the last several years in the non profit sector. He has served as Executive Director of the Calgary Foundation, project director of the HomeFront project and as consultant to a variety of charities on a range of issues. His community volunteer work has included membership of several boards, fund development and various consulting projects.

Wayne’s eclectic education and the variety of his experiences have contributed to highly developed analytical and conceptual abilities. He is able to quickly grasp the essence of a problem, identify solutions and assist in implementation. He has helped sector leaders in areas as diverse as strategic and operational planning, organization and human resource issues, financial management and marketing and fund development.

Committed to his own personal life long learning journey, along the way, he has served as mentor, coach and teacher to a variety of people in a variety of settings. Most recently, he has served as contracted executive coach to Kelly Ernst of Canadian Outcomes Institute. Wayne is a passionate advocate for, and practitioner of, servant leadership.

“While I have been blessed in all aspects of life, my greatest joy comes in helping others find their way and experience their own excitement and joy at the discovery. Serving those who need help and find my contribution of value is my vocation,” he maintains.
